Opuzen
Opuzen is located in the heart of the Croatian part of the Neretva valley, surrounded by fertile fields and therefore became known as the city of tangerine.
A special charm to the city gives the appearance of a small place, so one could feel the intimacy. If you take a walk in the evening in Opuzen somewhere you’ll hear a song. It is a city of happy people who are always ready for a song and humour.
Metkovic
Metkovic is located in the southeast of the country, on the banks of the river Neretva and on the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Metkovic is located near the ancient Roman settlement of Narona (today Vid). Narona was established as a Roman trading post, after Rome’s successful war (Illyrian Wars) with the neighboring Illyrian tribe Daors (ruins of their main city are located near Stolac in Bosnia and Herzegovina), and successfully grew until the 3rd century AD. Because of that Metkovic established Archeological Museum Narona.

Neretva’s boat is boat which has always in history had a crucial traffic-economic role for the inhabitants of the region. It has been the main means of transportation, for centuries. Every year are maintenance amateur race of these traditional boats on The Marathon of Boats. Participants are with boats racing down the Neretva River. The race starts from Metkovic, where starting from the town bridge, up to 22.5 kilometers away goal in Ploce. In the race are involved several teams and around three hundred of best rowers.
Ploce
Ploce is now a small modern port city at the mouth of the Neretva in Dubrovnik-Neretva County. The backbone of the economy of the city Ploce is cargo sea port.
Bacina Lakes a pearl of unspoiled nature consist of seven lakes, six of them forming a bluish green necklace. The lakes are located between the Neretva Delta, the sea and the surrounding mountains, in the place of Bacina, close to Ploce. The water in the lakes is brackish, meaning they are connected with the sea.
Bacina Lakes, not far from the traffic route in the Neretva River valley, are another place of beauty which must be visited.
